Brake Noise

I've been hearing noise from my front brakes. Not the chirpy metal-tap indicator noise, but a rougher, clunkier noise. Similar to the noise I've heard when someone I know let their brakes wear all the way down past the pads for the metal-on-metal scrape.

So, today I pulled off my wheels to check the pads. There's plenty of pad material left all the way around (I should hope so on a car with less then 30k miles!). My rotors seem flat (maybe not perfect, but good enough.) :dunno:

As far as I know they're OEM pads, which should be organic, right? Any ideas? What else should I check? Any of you guys experience anything similar?

Brake noise usually comes from vibration. It can come from anything: pads, rotors, shims, any part in the system. My suggestion, if it isn't the pads and the rotors seem fine, would be to tighten all the bolts on the caliper. Also a very good idea, get a 2 dolllar can of brake quiet or whatever it is called. It is a spray on lubricant. Spray down the the backs of hte pads, the metal shims, the calipher bolts. Just don't get any on the front of the pads or on the rotors (as you need friction to stop). This usually solves all the problems.
