Rust!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought a 2002 eclipse gt and my buddy who works for a body shop has found rush under the hood. The thing is that the rust formed were the metals joins. My friend who has 2000 gs has stored his car outside the whole time he has had it and doesn’t have any rust on it. What should I do about this?And what will the warranty cover and is it possible that they will give me a new car????????:screwy:

Your car is warranted against rust for I believe 5 years, maybe longer. Good luck getting Mitsu to admit there is enough rust there to warrant repairs though.

Theres honestly not a damn thing you can do about rust besides replacing the peice for a NORMAL person. it is rusted on joints of metal under the hood, it looks like mitsu fucked it up when they were putting it togther

I read this and had to check for myself. Sure enough, every joint unded the hood has a line of rust all the way down them. I'm pissed! Not only that but my battery is growing fur on the negative post. What a pain in the ass to clean.
