with wheel locks does it mean it is impossible to steal?

also, what if i add two sets of different brand wheel locks, overkill?

Wheel locks don't mean it's impossible to steal, they are more of a deterant(i think that's the word) 2 different locks isn't really any better. If they really want your wheels, they'll get 'em even if it means taking your whole car.

All wheel lock companies have a master set available to repair shops, dealers, etc. Pretty much anyone can get their hands on a set. Thiefs can also use a hammer & chisel to remove wheel locks, its a matter of minutes.

We had a customer bring a car in with 4 different wheel locks & no keys. To remove them we took a 19mm socket & welded a pieces of steel across inside. Then grooved the wheel lock to match ghetto fab socket, removed all 16 in less than 15 min.

Get a good alarm and wheeel locks. The trick is to make it as hard as possible

Im doubting anyone in my area can steal my rims without getting a framing hammer upside thier head. I have an Autopage 750LCD with extra features and two way Lcd remote. My suggestion would be to get an expensive alarm something similar to what I have. I set mine in silent so that the siren never goes off. It beeps on my remote when the alarm is triggered so that I can sneak out and bash em.

didn't know they were that easy to steal. I'd like the pager alarms, sounds very good.

Also I remember on the news an some guys were breaking into a car and the owner shot killed one of them. The owner went to jail because they were unarmed. sad story.

yeah.....whats up with crap like that....you go to jail for protecting what you work sooo hard for.....i hate the laws in that aspect. and if they do get caught, all they get is a slap on the wrist and they go and do it again. I say we go old skool and cut one of they arms/hand/something off so they wont do shit like that ever again. and i agree with jackassi...if they really want your car, they'll find a way to take it man.

if you shoot them in the legs, it's not intent to kill.

Maybe charged with assualt with deadly weapon. You'll get less jail time for a leg shot though. if you live in Los Angeles, maybe you'll be out in no time.

hell, in ohio, a shot in the leg is called a "warning". and it's not some piddlin hand gun... it's a 12 gague, or a hunting rifle :eek7:

If you do shoot a thieve make sure he is dead. He can press charges on you. Plus once he is shot drag him in the house! :)

here's over kill = I have 4 different sets of wheel locks on each. and you cant find them at retail stores, only special oder through dealer ships. the only major thing is, if i loose any keys, its a pain to re order a new one, can be done becase these are dealer/ major manufactor based kits. :-}

you people are silly, lol, if some one wants your rims and cant get them unscrewed guess whats next? your entire car! see if i was the person, i would just use a glass cutter, cut open your window... then hop in, bypass your car alarm (if u have one) then start your car, then i got new rims, exhaust, engine, tranny, chasis, and a whole lot more! eh, sorry for being an ass, just my 2 cents, i rather them steel my rims then jack my entire car, cuz i can just order some new ones

you sound like you've done this before.....

There's a certain risk-return ratio that you have to consider. Does the risk outweigh the return. Depends on who you ask. I'm sure rim theft is a much less serious charge than grand theft auto. Just depends on the theif. I think tilt sensors and wheel locks are better than nothing.

Point is:

If a person wants something on your car (anything really, your whole car included.) they can get it. Your car is never and will never be 100% protected. Deterrence is key.

i dont mean to be an asswhole but wheel locks are pointless, well wait, which ones are u refering to? the inner ones? or the big sticks that go on the outside? cuz if its the big ones that go on the out side u can just unscrew the steering wheel, i dont steal cars my self but i have some friends that do so i know alot of the tricks, i would prefer to not live in jail :)

Wheel locks are lug nuts that require a special tool to remove
