Hi, I am new here.
I am not a current owner of a bmw. But, I will be by the end of this year!
I will be a proud owner of a 95' 325is!

So i know it only has 190 hp and that is good. I also know that the 328is has the same amount of hp but has more torque.

well my point is:
Is it EASY (in general words) and possible to do a swap, of the M3 engine to a 325is or a 328is cars????
If it is easy what parts should i have?
Budget?
Any comments will be welcome.

I was wondering because i hear there is a lot of m3 cars brokedown and ""might be"" Cheap do a swap than buy an m3 car.

I was just wondering.

Thanks in advance,
Tito

I'm no expert on that topic, but I'm sure you could swap motors along with the tranny, clutch, and ECU which you will all need to do the swap, but if you ask me it's more work than it's worth. You will need quite a few M3 parts to make the engine run and operate in there.

Along with all that Power, you will then want the stiffer chassis, bigger brakes, and everything else. You might as well save your cash and get a used E36 M3 or even a 328is, they are getting fairly cheap these days.

Personally, I like them in stock form the best.
Just my $.02

I'm going to assume you don't know how to mount and install the engine. So if you really want to do it, expect to pay 6,000$ minimum
Add that to the price of your new car probably 8,000 for a good one, and thats 14000$, voila the price of a used m3 in good cond.
