Yeah i have a 94 v6 camaro. when i start the car it starts fine for about one second then shuts right off. All the gauges and everything die. Its like it looses all power and shut the motor off, but not the lights radio or any accessories. Also when i turn the key to the on postion none of my check engine lights, abs, or anything light up. They light up when i start it then shut right off after it starts then shuts down. Its a 5 speed. thanks for any suggestions. Already replaced then ignition module.

??? um, your key dosnt have a little black pellet in it??? with the metal stipe??? you dont have passkey on it? i thought they all had that, didnt know you could order them without it. sounds like a VATS problem, or a bad PCM. have you run the car for codes?

aye how would i start a car if the ignition lock has freezed up , basicly the 91 in my drive way , the ignitoin lock is fucked and when i was taking it apart those two wires for the terminals that connect teh little wire in teh black pellet thing broke and i cant get the engine to turn over , b4 this problem happened there was nothing wrong with the car runing

well i have to ask, have you tried replacing the battery? i guess you can rule that out if your accessories stay on but unless its been replaced recently why not try a new one anyhow. what about the wires and the plugs? are you saying you replaced the distributor? got an aftermarket ignition? i would think its an electrical/ignition problem, but that sounds like a pickle.

mike, gotta buy a new ignition cylender. those two wires control the VATS system, if they are an open circuit, or read the wrong resistance, the ECM withholds power from the starter motor and ignition system. you can bypass the VATS relay, but all that gives you is the ability to crank the engine, still no ignition power. so gotta replace the cylender, which also means two new keys, if you want a backup that is, but at least one new key
