well if you're planning on extra upgrades later then it would be wiser to wait until you get your engine stronger and faster so that it can handle a bigger shot of Nitrous instead of buying a small system now and then in future having to buy another bigger nitrous system for your engine. I'm sure a stock v8 could handle anywhere between a 50-100shot of nitrous depending on how strong the engine is and how its holding up.
This is a really tricky thing as if you get a shot too big for your engine to handle it could blow your engine and cause you much pain in future :p
thats why i suggested maybe waiting until you build up the engine a bit more and then maybe go for the nitrous shot to make sure your engine can take it.

General rule of thumb V8 can take 125-150 shot stock when in good shape.

I agree completely.

Not unless it is set-up wrong... a good condition 5.0 can take a 75HP shot no prob.

Anytime nitrous is introduced to the combustion chamber extra fuel needs to be added in order to make and add power safely.
A dry nitous kit will add more fuel by way of your injectors. I'll use a Zex Nitrous kit for example mainly because thats what I use.
This kit comes with a NMU. Which is basically a brain that box that houses your solinoids. When you arm this kit and are at full throttle the brain box adds nitrous and at the same time increases the amount of fuel at your injectors, thus producing more power. I can't speak for all kits because I haven't used them all but thats basically how it works with a dry kit.
Nitrous is like any mod You make. It works best when other mods have been done. I would suggest doing all your basic bolt ons first then do nitrous because you'll get more out of it.

Might sound stupid, but I wouldn't run the 150 or even the 125 shot with the AODE tranny that came in 95. The T5 though I think would be just fine with that.

i had a kit on my honda before and never had problems.

There are basic rules to learn when using nitrous. Some people ignored those rules and nitrous kinda gotta bad name. Its like anytime you mention nitrous thats the first thing people think. There goes your engine, but thats not true.
Nitrous when used correctly will not harm your engine. The problem is people use it and then don't know where to stop. Your fuel to nitrous combination is key. Most kits will show you how to do that but you know, theres that question. " I wonder what would happen if I added a little more?" You get more nitrous then fuel you'll have a problem.
The fastest nitrous cars are the ones that haul ass when on no juice. Nitrous is at its best when used as an enhancement not a necessity.

I agree 100%
Stupid people with nitrous harm engines.

I ran a 250 shot through an NX plate on a stock HYPEREUTECTIC shortblock with TFS heads/cam/intake. Ran a seperate fuel cell with C16 for the nitrous kit, with a WOT switch, FPSS, and RPM switch. As long as you play it safe it'll work out fine.
