yea this is my f250 that has been lifted 2 inches off the ground on mad mudder wheels and tires http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f25013_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f25012_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f25011_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f25010_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f2509_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f2508_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f2507_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f2505_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f2504_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f2503_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f2502_new.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/155034f250_new.jpg

very nice frame im still gonna make u build me one. lol no more hating ppl its not meant to be a "OMG LOOK AT THAT" model. just a prop for a truck to sit under so what if it cant turn how many models of yours (camaro boy) with custom suspension turn and everything? anyways good frame keep it up.

If He's gonna try again, and actually not have a thread locked you really don't need to call anyone out. That's just asking to get all this started again, people are still going to voice their opinions. Calling someone a "Hater" isn't gonna stop that, that's just gonna make more people talk down to you because that is a pretty stupid thing to say to someone. When you post pictures on a public forum it shouldn't be to say, "Everyone tell me how good I did, I don't care what you think, Just tell me how good it is." You post to get others opinions, and half the time around here it's gonna be a criticism.

I personally like it, Some people go for full detail of the suspension on trucks like this and some don't. If bill is happy with what he built, I'm happy for him.

Keep up the good work bill, can't wait to see it finished.

I personally think it's neat as hell. When the paint is on there its going to look pretty sweet. Right now though it is hard to see if it is going to look good or not. It almost looks to high, but again I attribute that to the fact of no paint being on there. Keep going man, too soon to tell yet I do see your vision.....I think LOL.

Do you have any pictures of the body? just the body? what year is the truck by the way?

Im with everyone on the to high thing, I like big trucks, dont get me wrong, but I think thats a bit tall, but to each his own. It looks to me like there is a bit of a forward rake?..like the rear is a bit taller than the front? maybe its just me. have you thought about adding a few springs from pens at each corner, I think that would give it a bit more realism, do it sort of like a rock crawler suspension, nice and beefy.

Looks cool, could still use a bit of work, but ill be watching this one closesly.

If this is a 1:24 model or so would the lift be like 20 inches or something. or even higher.

phatmitsu
05-06-2004, 09:51 PM
actually in scale it would be 48-50 inch lift.. hence the 1:24 is 1 inch for every 24.. So thats a 4 foot lift if it was a real truck.. IMO I would keep it that high but make it a bit more realistic. Add in some mega arched leafs or even a full on tube frame with some crazy four links like the real big time jacked up trucks are running.. Also i would ad in some tie rods and center linkage so it atleats will look like it would be drivable.. Later Rick S

I know nothing about this kind of trucks... So if I tell you it seems to me having too small tires for its height, please take it as my personnal taste, not a critique. The most important is to have fun! Even if the result may not be realistic (in this case, I don't know if it is or not)! So far, this model looks very funny, I would really like to see it finished!
I certainly missed something, but I don't see why there could be a quesion of hating about it!...
... This model rather makes me smile: there is life here apart from Skylines! (I'm a Nismo400r fan, ndlr! )

its alright...maybe a lil too high for me, but still, i give you an a for the work it took to do that.

edit: and posting pics of other trucks that sit too high, doesnt help either...they all look jus as silly as the model sitting that high.

That's crazy lift! I'm doing one on a 78 dodge lil red with 4x4 conversion and a hemi. I don't think mines even that tall. I think I lifted the suspension like 7/16''s and the tires give it like a little over and inch of lift. Mines not realistic, it has control arms attached with springs on the rear, and the front is just two solid tubes that will be black so you cant tell they're not springs. I'd love to see more of this truck, hope you get it into gear and finished soon. Best of luck!

never saw these before. I thought you are going to make it monster-truck like - what are these kind of trucks used for?

@jdm: i can understand you willing to help bill. And i agree that maybe not everyone used the right kind of language telling his opinion but i think closing threads cause of to much negative feedback and starting a new one where only positive comments are allowed isn't the right way to handle this...
