86 supercharged in USA?

im new to the toyota zone but my questions could not be answered by the a faq. im thinking of buying an 86 MR2 the car stickers say supercharged, but the vin doesnt say superhcarged, but the owners manuel is for a 86 supercharged. where there any 86 supercharged models ever made? and if so where? how can i determine the right engine for it? the guy im buying it from doesnt know what engine goes in it etiher. can some one help?

Toyota did not make a supercharged MR2 until 1988 anywhere.

The only way an '86 has an SC is if someone swapped it in.
