ive heard of people doing away with the crinckled plastic
tubing and putting a straight slick pipe, back to the throttle
body on the raim air models. does it make it any better?
they say it keeps down turbulance, and are these tornado
things anygood? anybody use them before?

it is true that less turbulance is better, because less turbulance means the air can get there quicker which sometimes mean cooler, but the main thing is the more air and quicker you can keep it commin the more HP, so less tubulace more air to the engine, more HP

i dont know about the tornado things, but if you put the slick walled tubing on the intake it helps alot. well, let me rephrase that. my friend did it to his 88 turbo rx-7 and it helped his car out alot, i dont know how much of a difference on an N/A car but it does help air flow...

sheet metal would work nice, any kind of metal would be good, but the metal might heat up.....

i found a man today at a yard sale, he had 3
of them chrome k&n cold air kits they were
used, several years old, i got all 3 for
$30 im going to fix them from the
ram air box back to the throttle body
on my firebird and see what that does
for it. i probally only needed one
but it was a steal, i'd say i need
to bend it out a little straighter

i got one of those 92 z28 air induction
kits from the junk yard. it mounts behing the
nose in front of the air conditioner condensor.
my 90 rs has throttle body injection with the
round air box with the hose that goes out to
the driver's side behind the head lights, im
thinking about turning it straight and run the
towards the middle and into that air box, you put
a filter in the top of it, and i can take the air filter
out of the tbi air box. sound good?
