Upper Ball joint?

The mech says my upper ball joint needs to be replaced.
Though I see nothing obviously wrong with it, it needs to be done for the safety certificate.
Can anyone advise me on how these ball joints are removed?
Looks to me like they might be pressed into the upper arm, with a castle nut making the connection into the lower end.
Suggestions for making this an easier job? other than paying the mech to do it?
After replacing all rotors and pads, along with the fuel lines, I have'nt much hair left to pull out!
By the way, it's a 1990 integra in otherwise great shape.

You have to replace the whole upper control arm, the balljoints do not come oput of the upper control arm, only the bottom bal joint is removeable.

Thanks whtteg, I dropped 130 bucks at UAP for the upper control arm and ball joint.
Replacing the whole arm was an easy fix.
