replacing wheel bearings

I read the thread by busted ratchet about replacing wheel bearings. Seems simple enough and I have plenty of experience with suspension parts. However, I'm having an extremely hard time getting the axle
shaft out of the bearing. I've got 133K miles on the '95 and I know they've never been replaced. I've sprayed the splines with lube and let it sit and still can't get the axle to budge. Did I miss something on the dis-assembly? The disc is off and I left the three bolts on the hub to make it easier to push the axle out. However, I can't seem to get it to budge. Any insite would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hit in on the shaft with a soft hammer or if you don't have one hold a peice of wood against the axle and hit on it. This is to break the axle free, once you feel it move then you can proceed with the disassembly. This way you won't mess up the axle threads.

I've had the car on jack stands for a whole day soaking the axle splines in wd40. I tried hitting it with a rubber mallet (wouldn't budge), then I tried the 22 ounce estwing with wooden block, I even tried using my gear puller to push the shaft through the bearing. Unless I've really overlooked a bolt or two I think that the splines are just severely siezed, and I'm going to have to take it in. That really torks my hide!

I had to put an axle in a Mazda and had to burn it out with a torch hope yours isn't that bad. Just asking you do have the axle nut off ?
