Cavalier 2000 fuel filter

I have this 2000 Cavalier LS;
the Haynes book says "The fuel filter is located on the inside of right frame rail in front of the fuel tank".
I looked for the fuel filter everywhere under the car but couldn't locate it. Any idea where it could be?

look behind the fuel tank. if you follow the fuel lines coming out of the tank you can't miss it
