PETA hates Ford

*Small exerpt from this article (http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2004/05/05/notes050504.DTL&nl=fix)*

Cats are good. Cats are OK. So who wants to see one of the happy furballs get decapitated by the sunroof of a small, depraved European car? No one, that's who.

Check that. I'm wrong. Actually, thousands apparently want to see such a thing. Maybe millions. I know this because of the small mpeg video now circulating the Net like Paris Hilton in lime-green backlighting. I know this because of this bit of viral marketing created by the Ford Motor Company's U.K. ad agency, Ogilvy & Mather, whose sick demented geniuses created the thing and sent it out to the world.

Perhaps you've already seen it? Perhaps you've been alerted? If not, you can see the video here (http://www.apqx89.dsl.pipex.com/Cat.mpg).

There is, of course, an outcry. Animal rights groups are furious. Ford is pretending to be aghast. Even Ogilvy & Mather is claiming ignorance. Ford has issued a formal statement of denial (http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A16073-2004Apr15?language=printer) and disgust (wink wink nudge). Ogilvy & Mather has released a formal statement of we have no idea how the hell this happened (hee hee titter).

Well I love a lot of animals too, but damn it some of em I just love so much I have to eat em. We still need to organize our People Against PETA bar-b-que.

Did anyone by chance notice the author of that column said "Goddess" and no God. I've never seen that before.

pphhhbbbtt.....They're like the RIAA minus the suing 12 year olds

If PETA love animals so much, why don't they go to some far-off remote place and live with them and shag them all they fricking well want

I saw this video two weeks ago! Its so disgusting that you actually see he head get cut off and see it drop down into the drivers seat, even though it looks like its edited. I showed this video to some of my classmates. Some thought it was funny but others thought it was not.

Instead of an apology, Ford should have made another comercial of the driver's side window decapitating a person in a PETA T-Shirt with one sub-title...

"Fuck you if you can't take a joke!"

I didn't like the video but PETA is so fucked in the head they can't even pretend to believe someone may actually find that entertaining.

Anyone ever watch Penn & Teller's Bullshit! on Showtime?

They did an episode about PETA which revealed that they actually kill more animals than they save, while attacking other groups for doing the same thing...

I bout fell over when I saw that video, even though there is no way they would kill a cat to make it...

And Tex, I would love to attend your Bar-B-Que!

I don't wonder, it makes sense...

Yeah, Penn & Teller rock! I love that show, it's great but we're doin' the same here in VaBch, a PETA B-B-Q in hopes of raising money then seeing if PETA will accpet it or not.....

That Penn&Teller PETA episode was great. One of the VPs of PETA uses drugs developed by animal testing yet PETA wants to outlaw animal testing. Hypocrite? No she says, she needs to live to fight for animals.

Radical animal rights activists are full of these contradictions.
My soon-to-be sister in law became a vegan (radical vegetarian) who is going full tilt into not exploiting any animal of any kind, and lecturing to anyone else to do the same. She has 2 big dogs she rescued, to prove how much she values animals.
Well, what do her precious dogs eat?? Meat!!!!!

If she thought about this, the dogs would have to learn to like a diet of beans and lawn clippings......

BTW that cat decapitated by the Ford probably ate 500 mice in his lifetime. Maybe that terrible Ford saved another 500 mice by killing the cat!!

(....yes, I know it was likely graphics.......too bad for the mice!!)

You ever had to nearly commit suicide after watching the eco-nazi crapfest known as 'Captain planet'? I think among the eco-nazis that whole 'gia' or 'giaa' or whatever, is a big deal. It's a goddess which is in and of itself, nature. Yeah, and you thought they were just psychotic...

I thought that commercial was gross but for some reason I enjoyed it. hmm weird. Anyway PETA are retarded and should be shot. It's ok for them to harrass people/throw pies at them but its not ok to fake cut a cats head off on tv? god that's so wrong.

Captain Planet Rocks. He's my hero. He'll cut pollution down to zero.

Yes, I agree. There is a series of videos called the faces of death. It shows people dieing live(well, live at the time.) I'm no animal activist. But I don't like to see a helpless creature die for no good reason. What if you found out one of your family members appeared on one of those videos?? Maybe they died by accident, or maybe by their own stupidity. Does it really matter?? Oh, sorry. I started to rant & rave.
