I think I have an HKS, any brand is fine, the 2 features that I would look for is 1) automatic calculation of how long to leave your car on, mine gauges this based on measurements of rpms
2) battery voltage meter, this is just handy because the vr4s don't have the voltage gauge like the NA models.
They are not hard to install if you get the harness and have some *basic knowledge of sodering. You can use the clips provided, I didn't. I found picture instructions online, perhaps at www.stealth316.com
You have to remove the carpet in the drivers seat by taking out a few screws and clips. Then the harness just snaps into place, you need to attach one wire to the parking brake, one ground wire, and one rpm wire. If I remember correctly, so it was 3 seperate wires besides the harness, but they were all relatively easy if you have every fooled with electronics before and have the pictures telling you where all the wires go. If you need more help, let me know, and I'll look for that site.

i fitted a greddy fully auo turbo timer yesterday. great fun doing my 0-60 times, got down to 5.16 last night. great bit of kit, well worth the money and fairly simple to wire in yourself.
