I was biking with a friend when we were like 14 or 15 and went to the supermarket. There was a red 3000gt, based on looks alone I wanted one...5 years later I find out they come with 2 turbos...a year after that, my honda gets a gas leak. I tell everyone that I'm going all or nothing...a vr4 or taking the bus. After enough looking and a sizeable car loan...its in my driveway.

some lady across the street used to have on, and i looked at cars for a while, and found this really nice one, and at a price that was somewhat in my range..;)...so a couple days later, and a few checks later, it sat in my driveway....

Quick love story: my manager had a '93 red base and i drooled all over it every time as I walked into work. I told her if she ever sold it, i'd buy it and asked her how much she would sell it for. 2 weeks later, she calls me before putting it in autotrader and I jump at the 7k offer. i asked her why she was selling it she said "cuz you convinced me to!" she got an MR2...

hmm is it Possible to find a VR4 for about Ten Grand at a dealer? thats yah know in half way decent condition. Ide just need the engine to be strong for like 4 months till I had enough $ to get another engine put in so high mileage isnt an issue.

zanark, yes you can find one in decent shape at a dealership for 10 grand...but you might have to look for awhile and argue with the dealer.

Always liked em, Then met a guy through work 7 years ago. Became good friends with him and his wife. Rode and drove his car many times on long business trips. Fell in love with it. And then one day I go over to the house and there sitting in the driveway is a brand new Escalade. And then it happens, my friend says, " So I finally bought a new car, and I want my baby to go to someone who will take care of her" And now I am the proud owner of the near mint condition black beauty in my sig.

when i first decided the 3000gt was gonna be my car was when one night when i was 14 we drove up to this beautiful black 2nd gen 3000gt and i looked to my side and upon seeing it from the outside i had decided that no matter what, my first car was going to be a 3000gt.
We test drove a black 95 3000gt with 57,000 miles on it and at 57,000 miles your thinking, "oh this car is going to run great" well the guy who had the car before was apparently either a really bad driver or just raped his car when he drove... Needless to say, the suspension was shot, the ride was rough, the pedal would stick, etc etc. This experience discouraged me from the 3000gt community so i expanded my horizons and looked at 300zx's and others in the papers and online.... after all the looking, one day my father and i just decided to drive down Old 301 (which is a strip of road where there are primarilty auto shops and used car joints). We encounter 3 3000gts! as to when we went before we encountered none. The first was a raspberry manual transmission first gen 3000gt and we decided to skip that because i wanted automatic for the place i live in. The next car was this beautiful pearl colored 93 3000gt with 123,000 miles on it but it drove like a champ and so a day later we call up and offer 6,000 for it and bam, it is currently in my drive way :)
(I've put a couple nice 10' subs with a nice deck and am waiting for a K&N filter to arrive at the auto parts store to install it, im head over heels with this car)

3 years ago when i was 11 i was really starting to get in to cars. We went by this car lot and i saw a like 89 Cutless i think...for like $1,000 and i told my dad thats what i was going to end up buying when i turned 14...well...there was also a 2nd gen SL there...for $7,000 and my dad showed me it and he said "set your goals for something like that" and i said "thats to much...i'll never beable to buy a car like that...or something that nice". Well...3 years later and 14 now i have a 95 3000GT and in a year and 4 months i'll be getting a 94-96 VR-4.
I saw my car in a "Wheels for You" ad sorta like Autotrader".

When I was like 11 a neighbor down the street had a silver first gen stealth, and I thought that was the hottest looking car I ever saw. But I never thought I'd have enough money for one. Now like six years and a lot of hard work later I have a 94 3kgt. Dream come true.
It's interesting that most of us have loved this car since we were young.

Haha, I was just thinking that too...and even more funny is that I am falling in love with the new Bugatti Veyron....I wonder in 10 years if I will be telling a similar story ending with 'and now it's sitting in my driveway...'

Yea....i'm 14 and no i dont have my full license yet. I have a farm permit. Witch i use alot. It cool because my dad trys to find me ways to go and get a part or something...that way i can just drive my car...and as long as i'm doing sometype of farm work (i.e, getting parts) its ok by law. But also when you live in a town of 150 people...yes one hundred and fifty people they dont care who drives what and at what age. I guess you could say i'm lucky to have a 3000GT by the age of 14 and 7 months and it being my first car.
