I Have A 89 Rs 5.0 Tbi Camero Does Anyone Know Where I Could Find Cold Air Intake For It? Every Place I Check It's For Tpi Only. I Would Really Appreciate Any Help.

eh... best bet, buy a cowl induction hood, or a hood with a scoop, and make an airbox out of sheet metal. or run ducting up to where the tpi cold air intake is. in front of the radiator. either way im pretty sure youre gonna have to make your own.

take your air cleaner lid and flip it upside down!

damn, only if i had f/i i would try it, lol, remove my cowl, and id cut 2 holes, and put a screen from a window in there, id call it "justins ram air" lol

sounds like a marketable idea...

i think it would actually work, jus make 2 little scoop so all the air doesnt just glide right over it

i wonder if there would be a hp gain and how much of a gain would be expected hmm......

cowl induction works, the principles are sound. im willing to bet that the gains would be worth the work, and if not than atleast you will be able to say that you made your own cowl induction for your car. you would prolly need the cowl induction hood though or one of those bolt on scoops that you can buy...

i was thinking of jus lay a piece of sheet metal level, use leveler and weld the piece in place, then make the sides, kinda like a box, so the air goes driectly in, in a straight line right into the intake

like a three deminational triangle cut in half

oh i see...yeah i can jump on board with that idea

but instead of the sides going in like a normal triangle they can either be straight up and down or at an angle going out

in my 91Z, I took out the fog lights and put two 4" snorkles in place, leading up to the dual K&N filters.. All custom made myself out of hard vinyl painted to match the car, and piping material.. As soon as I get a digital camara i'll take some pics.. Turned out really good

i think carbs are alot easier, and i do not kno how to tune or even mess with f/i, havnt had much experience at it

You could try checking the junk yards for the airbox from an L69 5.0L HO engine. It had a dual snorkel airbox on it that would be a cheap and simple install.
