what turbo exactly are you talking about here? I have no clue what turbo Saabs come with, but if you can specify I may be able to help you out.

I did a little research and appearently saab turbos are all garrett turbos.
Straight from the site...
Saab turbocharged street cars have been burning pump gas since 1977. That was the year Saab introduced the first mass-produced turbo for passenger cars, in the 99 Turbo model. And that first turbo, as well as every Saab turbo since, has been supplied by Garrett Engine Boosting Systems (www.egarrett.com).
There ya go, hope it helps.

know what type of turbo it is? That is really what makes the difference in chosing a manifold.

ah, so it's a T3, well then all you need is a turbo manifold with a T3 flange and it'll bolt right up.

here's one that will fit your car, this one is made by OBX and goes for $225.

You can pick them up new anywhere from $175-$250 on the average. I've seen used ones go for about half that.

so what about installation... is it hard to do somthin like this... it looks like i would have to replace the header with that manifold and then bolt the turbo to that....???

how much of a turbo kit do you have piece together. you need a lot more than just the turbo and manifold

Installation isn't bad once you get all your pieces together, mostly just bolt up. Replace the exhaust manifold with the turbo exhaust manifold, bolt up the turbo, mount all the piping (good luck pieceing that together ;)), and that's just a basic set up there. It gets even more tricky when you add all of the stuff that really makes a turbo. :)

AirResearch, not garret :) I think it was a 90 Saab, pulled it myself. And for those that may consider using one, you need to take a couple things into consideration. One things is some are water cooled, some are oil cooled, Saab used both. Not matter what, it will need to be clocked (unbolting the turbine from the compressor and turning it so it can fit in front of a Honda). And sizing, the Saab ones are pretty small, and top end will be less than desirable. I good one from the junkyard for Hondas would be the one from a Fords, bigger compressor housing, more top end, yet still small enough so there's minumal lag, and good low end spool.
