My old man bought a 2001 Dakota with Gibson dual Exhaust on it. It sounds pretty sweet. Just a thought.

Neither. Why spend a pile of money on exhaust restricting mufflers that sound like trash when you could straight pipe or glasspack your truck?
Dynomax Thrush is what your friend should switch to. He should also take those Flowmassah's back to the store he bought them from and see if he can get his money back.

Ok, so what do you expect to accomplish by trading one version of turbo muffler for another? Another sticker in the window?
Bleed's mostly correct, it's the only possibility of gaining Low-end torque and changing your overall HP curve (note I did NOT say HP gain.... because, unless you put it on a dyno, and test it under both instances, you don't know squat about how much HP you've got. And there aren't any of us that can afford a Dyno for their garage, not to mention the bi-yearly calibration to ensure accuracy, and when was the last time the dyno at your buddies shop was serviced... ok I'll shut up now before I blow a fuse...)
Get real. Why waste money on exhaust sytems when you already have one. Not happy with your truck? I hear Hyundai's got 0% financing...LOL.

I agree with slant and bleed, my friend has Flowmaster muffler on his 98 Dak V6, and i don't like how it sounds. I think he wasted the money he spent on it

It probably sounds better than a V8 with flowmassah's. I can't stand the drone they make.
If I owned a rumble bee, I'd put flows on it because all they do is sound like beehives, so it would suit the truck...
