THANKS TIM FOR LETTING ME USE THIS!!!!
used photo shop for all of this. first i took the picture and adjusted the brightness and contrast so that it looked like a black and white picture

http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/3742/559749_39_full.jpg

then i started to color the front wheel. i used the paint bucket and the "fuzzy" airbrush. i also used a picture of a real rim so that i could use the eye dropper and get the correct colors from it.

http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/1051/focus1copy.jpg

then i just did the same thing for the back wheel. remember that because this is a deep dish rim there will be some shadows. also there could be shadows from the fender.

thats as far as i got. i started with the wheels because those would be the hardest. what do yo guys want to see done next?

p.s. remember Kustmace drew this picture. i am only coloring it

Umm...If I could, I would, but my camera is still out of commission.

And is it just me, or is there a tiny section missing from the bottom of the rear bumper?

its just you.

jk. i had to air brush out the lower left and upper right corners because after i adjusted the levels they were all dark. i think i just cut the corner off :banghead:.

nothing...I love the taillight.

You might want to duplicate the line art layer move it to your top layer and then set the layer mode on multiply. All the white will drop out and then you'll still have KustmAce's blick lines to trap your color.

Just a thought.

Keep goin.

I think the color of the car should be a bit different cuz you really can't tell where the rear wheels rubber is..

looks awesome. The only thing i would change is lighten the color of the side of the body to make the detail more visible.

ive just been doing the same thing only i set the opacity on the airbrush to about 50% because it gives me a better blend in the colors. if you guys have any questions just post them here of pm me.

I'm likin it a lot castback !!

Looks great.

Another cool trick is to fill an area with color and then use the dodge and burn tools to bring out highlights and shadows. It's under the gradient tool.

Sometimes I'll duplicate an area I just filled hit it with the dodge and burn messing with the settings, and then change it's layer mode and see what pops.

Congrats on the graduation. Art school in your future?

oh.... try using your air brush at a lower opacity and build your colors up slower. They get really rich that way. Try 15%.....and don't feather.

Art school in your future?

nah...i don't know yet. i get two years free at one school so i am going to take just the basic classes there and then decide in those two years what i want to do. i hope that whatever it is i do it is with art but i am havin' trouble deciding.

...well i think i am going to start using the dodge and burn tool because tim doesn't like the light blue color i picked ( :flipa: )....jk....i kinda agree. i am glad i did this becuase i learned a lot about p.s. i usually use the dodge and burn tool to do shadows on things. ive never used it to color. thnx for the help and complements.
