I have heard that there has been some that have replaced the 2.5L 4-cyl motor with a 3.8L from a later Bonneville. Something about the only hangup was finding a proper flywheel to mate motor with 4-speed tranny. Also heard most did it by replacing standard 4-speed with 5-speed G-series tranny and using a flywheel from '96 Camaro.

If anyone has any info please reply. I have a 3.8L Bonneville engine looking for a home and my 2.5 in my Fiero is getting tired.

A friend of mine is an expert at putting 3.8's in things that never had them, so I'll check and see what he has to say. You can probably plan on replacing the rear struts and springs with those from a V6 car or the suspension might sag and throw the rear camber off.
