hey..well im just wondering if anyone here knows whether or not the airbags on the eclipse have to be replaced after an accident, or could you just replace the steering wheel with an after market one? thanks

Did the airbags deploy? If not, no... if they are hanging out, you might want to replace/remove them. Yes you can replace the steering wheel too and remove it.

so does that mean you need to replace it with the stock steering wheel with an airbag, because the car isn't starting, but everything else seems to be fine with it.

the car should start even though the air bags are deployed, check all your fuses and the wires at the igniton harness

The car probably isn't starting because you just were in a damn accident. If your airbags are hanging out of course you have to replace/remove them.

^^^ What I have seen airbags go off when there no damage to the car.

the car prob isnt starting cuz of the accident sensor which cuts power to the fuel pump after an accident

^^ I agree. there is a sensor (its responsible for deploying the bags and cutting fuel) i'm not sure if you can reset it or if it has to be replaced. you'll have to look into that one.
As far as the airbags go... yes. you need to replace them. at the very least remove them and get an aftermarket steering wheel. Unless you get an "R" title with your car you can't legally replace your steering wheel. they call it "tampering with vehicle safety equipment" and it won't pass inspection. Was there any damage done to the car at all? I mean.. I would think in order for the bags to deploy you'd have to hit somethin pretty hard.

Thats odd. My friend has been driving around with deployed airbags for about 3 months, Its finally in the shop. But I agree that it cuts fuel when its first deployed, but after that I think its fine. Dunno probally cause it's it a different car.
