I got the K&N on a 4th gen. I don;t have a dyno but i can tell you that their is not a huge difference. I would say that it would be 5 tops.
(Not downplaying the K&N, worth the 40 bucks!)

A New Intake Box/lid w/ the K&N, then you might see closer to 10HP... breathing (Intake and exhaust) is all complimentary, the omre parts, the better each part performs. To get the advertised "15HP" from a part, you need a complete set-up.

my K&N's have reduced my 1/4 mile time by .1 in every car i've had.

you might get 10 hp at 100 feet below sea level, with an ambient air temp of 2*C, on a quad turbo charged V12 thats spraying NOS and running on alcohol gas...maybe

I got a K&N high performance filter and didn't notice much. But then i got the filter top, most parts stores know it as a K&N xstream filter, and that's when i felt the boost. Altho I'm carb'd so if you're injected you won't be able to get the filter top. With the carb it helps redirect all air straight down into the four barrel. If you're injected i would save your money and get a cold air kit for around 300, it would be worth it over a K&N any day.

Anyone think the K&N FIPK is any good?

i personally dont like it...it has a huge buldge in it that to me would make for less intake flow cause it would act as an expansion chamber in the intake. i like my slp cold air
