recieved used engine

the engine i got doesnt look exactly like the one in my 97 metro 1.3 the distributor cap is cracked off and gone the timing belt cover is cracked i paid $550 for it and was told it was a 97 when i got the paper off the engine it stated 96-97 i wanted to get the same engine so i could do it myself should i return it or deal with it.

The internals are the same on them. But DON'T USE THE ELECTRONICS ON THAT MOTOR. Every year from 96-2000 used a different set of coil packs. If you have a 500ohm set of coil packs, and you plug the new motor in, and it has 450ohm, you'll fry your computer. You can use the motor, but change out the sensors from the old motor, and the ignition coil packs.

thanks i also found out that i was sent a standard not automatic. the throtle body was bent on it. it also looks different than mine
