I don't think changing synthetic oil every 3000 miles isn't nessary and doesn't that get kinda expesive. I thought synt was good for around 12000 miles.

umm yea when ever I get around to it 3000-5000 miles. Mobil 1 10w-30 Mobil 1 oil filter

Oh yea that reminds me it's about that time again :banghead:

I was using synth for like 6000 miles, as far as I could tell it wasn't doing anything for the car, so I went back to blend at about 1/3rd the cost. The synth seemed to be burning off quite a bit more than the blend, when I go to change it I was comming up well over 1 liter short, instead of the usual 0.5ish.

20-50w was fun.. back to 10-40 for me.

yeah, i noticed that synthetic burns up faster too.
as far as my changes go, i do it about every 3000 miles and i use castrol gtx, a purolator filter and a can of engine restore.

You know what, I swear by Restore!
That stuff has saved multiple cars of mine!
As for oil, it really depends on your climate.
I live in Pa. and in the summer I use Mobil 1 15w-50 & K&N oil filters, but I drive like a maniac i my SR.
I do changes ever 3,000 or so miles.
In the winter I go thinner on the oil, same filter(forever) and same time frame.
