94 Dodge Intrepid steering locks when air conditioner on

My 1994 Dodge Intrepid has issues with the power steering. When I run the air conditioner, the power steering is almost impossible. When turning corners power steering is almost non-existent. I have had it into the repair shop where they have checked the power steering rack and said that it does not need replaced. They did however replace all the hoses to the power steering rack. The car actually did this a little bit prior to having it checked but it seems to be worse. Any ideas???

there's a HUGE safety issue with intrepids and faulty steering brace-to-frame mounts.

I think you may have a pump that's bad, or a problem in your rack that the shop didn't catch, but look at your frame, please. Also look at the left motor mount.

Although I'm a long time pro-chrysler fanatic, steering problems with intrepids and stratuses have caused people to die, which I'm certainly not for. I found out about this by going to dodge-sucks.com , which has a lot of basis in reality, but not enough credibility to be as obtuse as they are about Diamler-Chrysler. Remember that Diamler didn't design the cab forward cars, or the 5.9L motors, the durango or the 41TE transmission. Chrysler did it all by themselves, and with a little help from Mitsubishi Motors (can you say Hyundai...) (which is the worst Japanese manufacturer out there.).

Good luck and I hope you don't have the bad steering trouble.
