Im just looking for some opinions.. Right now im looking at many newer camaros. I'm just looking for some opinions.. I'm pretty set on a 99 Camaro Z28 with t-tops and only 52k for $10,995.. but i've seen a lot 93-97's with the same mileage for about 1,000 less.. Also seen quite a few convertibles with similar mileage around the same price.. any opinions? Keep in mind this will be my first major monetary decision.. im 18 and not as happy with the sixer as i used to be. Also just discovered an 85 IROC with 19,000 original in immaculate condition for $13,000.. any ideas? I know the IROC is a wicked awesome car, because my grandpa has one.. but i know the LS1 will smoke the shit out of it.. any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

well kaotic rule that 85 iroc out of the picture that car is worth like maybe 1000.00 nowhere even close to 10,000. A fully rstored 85 iroc worth no more than 3,500 if you like to pay top price.... and heres another thing to help.... 93-97 or 96 i believe is the LT1 engine.... 97 or 98 and above is the LS1 .

the 85 IROC isnt restored.. it's one of those, we had it but never drove it because we're old and its too fast typea cars.. i know all about camaros man.. i know the lt1 was in the 93-97, but debuted in the 92 corvette with over 300hp.. i know it ran 275 hp stock.. i know the 98-02 had the LS1(which was also first in the corvette in 97) with 305 stock.. unless you got the SS package at 345.. i know about how much it would take to get an LT1 to 305 hp.. i've done my homework, and have followed camaros since i was a yougin.. and believe it or not i know how hard it is to find a car that hasnt been beaten to hell.. as for offerin the guy 23 dollars and a blowjob.. i got 40 in my pocket.. but im not sure about the blowjob part.. i dont swing that way.. wouldnt even for a Z06.. lol. I ruled the 85 out at this point, not because of what you said.. but because more or less after financing im gettin in a bit deeper than i want.. im kicking convertibles out of the mix because they're so damn ugly.. and im pry goin with the 99 Z so i can get the performance i need.. besides, i'm pry gonna be inheriting an 86 IROC someday.. my grandpa is never parting with that thing..

I agree with your choice to get the newer one... It has had less time to be beaten around since its newer lol! But any how just be careful it doesnt need a tune up im getting fucked up quotes at like 200-500 bucks and more to tune my 94 z28 up.... what a joke heh.. any how you are smart for ruling otu a 10,000 dollar IROC out... any hjow good luck !

Don't go with the IROC. It only has a 305 in it and you wont be content with it for long. The decision is between the older 4th gen and the newer. The LT1 motor is in the 93-97 Camaros and 98-02 are the LS1. I dont know much of the differences between the two other then motors and cosmetics. Yet, with what little I know I'd go with the 98+ Camaro.

One other thing to consider at 18 yrs old is the price of your car insurance. If you do finance that 99 z you will be required to fully cover the vehicle and that will not be cheap by any means. And as far as financing...the newer the vehicle the better chance of the getting the financing. Alot of places will not even finance vehicles as old as the IROC. I would get insurance quotes on every vehicle you plan on purchasing, just so you do not get bombed with a $250 a month car insurance bill.

$250/month is not that bad for 18 years old w/ a 99 z. if i could get away w/ $250/month for a 99 z, i'd have one sitting in my driveway instead of my 97 rs. insurance is bs. pay shit loads of money, and for what? if ur a safe driver, you shouldn't be getting raped up the ass. pisses me off

this is the 99Z28. 52k, price just reduced to 10,995. It has side skirts and the rear piece from a kit.. it has the 3 piece lip spoiler.. perfect leather interior, t-tops, and almost no scratches/chips in the paint (which is hard to find!). Insurance quotes are ranging between 175-200/mo.. which isnt bad at all!! by the way this is the pic from the dealers add on AutoTrader. it looks way better in person because i have been to see it several times, being as how its 2 miles away from my house
