I don't think it would. as far as a shit load of money, I think you would have to get a new computer, new rearend, new everything, just for that motor to work.

As far as I know, the modular engines use the BBF bolt pattern, and the motor mounts are completely wrong for a SBF.
Why on god's green earth would you want a pushrod engine in a 2001 vehicle?

What year is the 302 and what engine does the 2001 have in it now? There might be an adapter which you can purchase. You won't need to change the rear end or anything like that either. whether it is Fuel injection of carborated, it does not matter...its an easy conversion to make. The only major thing you will have to do is reprogram the computers, but that's not too difficult for someone who knows how to do it.
If you can't find an adapter, look for a tranny that will bolt up to the 302 and throw that in there at the same time.
Hope this helps!

i would personally stay with the triton, but i do things people don;t understand so i will try to help. Would will need a different tranny, an AOD would work nice because would would not have to worry about the computer stuff. I think the 5.4 makes more torque and horsepower than a stock 302, but you could build a mean 302 and throw it in there. You will need different motor mounts, tranny mounts, and the diff will work.
