Mitsu. 3000GT

Here is something i've been working on since last night. I've had so much goin on here recently I haven't had alot of time or patience to work on some of my other projects. This i going to be an easy build, nothing planned other than a pearl red paint job, I might throw some rims on it if i feel like.

Here's what i have so far, I started with the interior as i usually do.

The left side of the back seat looks pretty rough, that's mainly b/c this is the first time painting in my dusty basement. Plus there was alot of hairs/fibers from the masking tape after i cut it.

The body is sanded and ready for a decent day to primer, It's been cold here lately.
I don't know how fast this or any other progress will go, or even if I'm gonna be around for the next month or so. This is because I am buying a house and was not expecting that to happen so fast, but my contract was excepted this afternoon and as soon as construction is finished I'm gonna be moving in slowly.

It's my first house, I've been a worthless pile of nerves lately wating to see if the builder would accept my offer. It's 4 beds 3 baths. Now i have to wait to see if the person who bid first will be able to sell theirs or get a loan within 48 hours and it's mine.


Anyway back to the model......Tell me what you think.

I'm gonna have to say around a 1992, all the pics i can find on e-bay after 1992 the side vents are diffrent. These are the only ones that resemble the model

Thanks for all your comments guys. When i get home tonight i will probally finish cleaning up the interior and start on the suspension. It will be late so the primer will have to wait till tomorrow.

Are you behind a firewall? The pics are uploaded to 250free.com, if any security software has that site blocked that might cause this to happen.
Sorry, If anyone else is having the same problem (which dosen't seem to be the case) then i can change servers later tonight.

Check to see if www.250free.com is blocked from your computer someway. that should allow you to see them like the rest of us. I tried from 3 diffrent computers at work and works every time, like i said in a post before my job blocks alot of the pics on AF but i can still see these.

The house is almost a sure thing......the model helps to calm the bubble guts until i can sign the papers. This is the most nerve racking thing i've ever done.

I will get the pics fixed tonight when i get home, sorry to you guys in areas that can't see them. I had no idea that 250free.com did that. Now I know so i'm not going to be using them anymore.

What is that, a Down Payment or the total cost?. Houses here in cali aren't cheap, my parents are pay'n 5,000 a month on morgage. The house total is about 300,500, 4 bath,4rooms, one huge garage, which I'll be using in a few months :naughty: :evillol: . )and a nice veiw of LA.

Anyways back the the subject, Very nice interior, nice and clean. Can't wait to see some exterior work.
Hope you make a deal on the house.

had a little spare time tonight so i started to paint the suspension/undercarrage parts. I know you can still see some of the plastic on the exaust, I have to find the other bottle of aluminum paint so i can finish. I still have to finish, just put the first colors on the parts. too lazy to do anything else tonight.
I haven't posted any pics of the body yet b/c i think we all know what a sanded body looks like. Hopefully i can start on it tomorrow. I'm still debating a pearl red or gunmetal color.

i almost bought an airbrush just like that except it had a smaller cup. the Iwata was just $60 and has the larger cup.

Quick update....
Here's the color on the body, It's GMC's Bahama Blue (Mcc, whatever that means). I wanted to paint it red but did not feel like buying more paint so i decided to use what i already had. I think it turned out very nice, the paint laid down very smooth from the start. Still need to clear and polish, might do this later today if i get finished doing everything I have to do. It's a beautiful outside so I'll probally have to get out and shine my whip!

thanks guys, I'm gonna lay down the clear and hopefully finish polishing it out tomorrow.
I'll take some pics when the sun isn't beating straight down to try and cut out the glair when i'm finished.

I have a few mistakes in the paint so i'm gonna re do them, I was experimenting with a new way to do panel lines and kinda f-d up. Good thing i got alot of paint.

ok kool. that blue is awsome though. is it called bahama blue. Also who makes it, night wanna do my next project in this color

duplicolor makes it, it's a GM color. I got mine at autozone, or advanced....they sell the same colors so take your pick. The blue looks much better when the light isn't so bright, looks less metalic and more of an anodized blue color.

kool. is that a spray or in the lil touch up bottles. Sry for all the questions hehe thnx for the quick responses too

Haven't had much time to do much with this one lately, I've packed up most of my modeling stuff so this will probally be the last update for near a month. I can't wait to get more space so i can start crakning em out...lol.


Well here's some pics of the body now cleared and polished. It still needs some more work b/c i had it on a filecabinet and somehow got dropped and needs to be touched up and i also had a few probs with the panel lines, that's why some are done and some are not. I have got a good bit of polishing to do and then a final wax.

all of the pics i took of the dings and scratches in the paint turned out blurry so i didn't post them. They are mostly around the bottom of the car so i'm just gonna touch them up and be done with it.

I agree totally, but those were left out when i packed up my models and wheels so there just there for mock up. I've actually done alot more, got the whole undercarrage/suspension done. For ease i just threw the stock wheels on, I just wanted to get everything i'd already painted together.

Had some problems when i went to put the body on, it fits real loose and won't sit right on the chassis. It leave a big gap between the back of the hood and where the dash starts. Anyone else had this problem, if so what am i doing wrong.
