I'm probably not the biggest, but i'm definitely up there. I was born and raised a GM sports car fan and i think everything about the firebird is sickly awesome and its the hottest car ever :smokin:

I'm not the biggest fan either but i do know my firebirds. I have been styudying them closely the past 2 years. Ever since i was 7 years old, my dad use to tell me about his old 77 firebird and at the time i just like the sound of the name. Ever since then, i have been on the look out for firebirds and just recently i bought a Autobiography of the firebirds. Each generation i read up on studying what changed between the 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and so on. I may not know what is inside the engine after you rip apart the block or i might not know what some parts of the engine are, but i do know what engines are found in which car, how much torque and horses they pushed, recorded 1/4 mile and 0-60 times, general body style, suspension, transmission, etc. I probably can't go into a whole lot of detail about each one but i do know the basics. Plus, i can spot a firebird on the street almost a mile away. Guess i have the "eagles eye". I just hope when they come out with the 5th generation they don't make it look like some lambo or anything. Nor a mirror image of the camaro like we were in the 60s and 70s. Actually the camaros came first and we copied off them but towards the 3rd and 4th generations, firebirds have come to own more of an independent style.

But the Trans Am is a version of the firebird. It isn't a different car, just different features but they all carry the firebird logo.

Actually i say the trends were set by the birds the firebird was the first to sport the split bumper design then the camaro used it and didn't both cars appear in 67, And this forum is prejudice u all like the new birds only atleast the majority of you you have too look back at your roots when pontiac power was the way now the camaro and the firebird sport the same motors hate that cuz the bird can distinguish himself as pontiac power it just the same

I agree with reckage...back when they had their own motors, that was the best of all, now it's all about looks, not power :nono:....and yes the firebird and camaro were both introduced in 67.
