98 Silverado Starting problem

Need a little help here! I have a 98 Silverado Z-71 with a little over 100k on it. It normally starts fine. However, in the past few weeks there have been a few times when I start it and it wants to die. I can keep it going by hitting the gas but then when I let up it dies. If I start it again it will do the same thing but will eventually straiten out if I keep the gas down for a little while. This generally happens about 3 or 4 times a week and has happened while the engine is cold and warm. Any suggestions? Would sure appreciate it.

You might check for vacuum leaks everywhere with starting fluid or carb cleaner. Also, my old 94 had an Idle Air Valve that went out that controlled the idle. Might check into that on yours. Good Luck
