Won't start after driving through deep puddles

I've got a car question for you. I was driving home from Garland Friday night when it was raining. I drove through some good puddles on the highway. When I exited the highway my truck started acting like it was out of gas and just stopped. I pushed it off the road but it wouldn't turn over. I let it sit Saturday and we towed it to the house. After sitting Saturday and yesterday it wouldn't turn over. Chris looked at it and we replace the control module, but still wouldn't turn over. It's getting gas and spark but it won't turn over. The starters fine. Know what it could be? Some one has said water could have gotten under the distributor cap.

This has happened once before, but after it sat overnight it started up.

You say it wont turn over...does the engine spin over and will not start (turns over/no start) or when you turn the key, the starter wont engage? (wont turn over)
You need to be a little clearer on your complaint

It acts like it wants to turn over but it won't start. You can here the starter when you turn it.

So you are saying the engine spins over normally, but will not start and run

Definately check the distibutor for moisture..if you find any, replce the cap and rotor, remove the 2 small screens at the base of the distibutor and dry the distibutor as well as you can.
Also check the air box for water and a saturated air filter..if so, dry the box and replace the filter.

Also after all the cranking pull the plugs and check to see if they are gas fouled.

Thanks for the help. It turned out to be the distributor. It was chiped on the back side and was letting water in. Replaced it and rotor and it's running great. Made up for the loss of power I've been having too.
