Wierd cold air intake

Has anyone with a ram air hood ever hooked a conical filter directly to the throttle body. I'm going to try it this weakend. I'm gonna put a heat shield between the motor and the filter. Any suggestions?

I don't really know how to ask this, but basically can you put an intercooler on a nonturbo/sc motor to cool the air done extremily?

Don't forget you need to leave the MAF hooked up.

Already tried it even with the ram air hood it is still to small an area to put the filter. So I just removed the air silencer the normal.
