muffler??? rattles when i rev.....

my 97 rs is starting to piss me off. i took it in a few weeks ago and had the muffler brackets tightened, and the rear end (god knows why it was loose.....) tightened as well. that temp fixed the rattle. now, whenever i rev or shift the car, at anything above idle, something in the rear of the car rattles like a bitch, and it's starting to piss me off. any ideas?? thanks

Have a friend rev the car while you look under it. Don't inhale the fumes :evillol:

yeah, i mean could be alot of things, internal baffles rusted out and are rattling around in the muffler, muffler pipe is tapping something, fuel tank heat sheild is rattling, i agree with 88ReX and have a friend rev it to when its making the noise. put on a glove, and press down or grab hold of different parts in the back, when the noise goes away, your touching the part thats loose.

i dont know much about cars or nothing....but my truck had that problem and it was the catallytic converter....maybe check that

Try geting ruber hangers and make sure the hole exaust system isn't touching any thing metal to metal mostly
