D16Z6 bored to 1.8L

Has anybody tried boring the D16Z6 over to 1.8L or maybe even 2.0L? If so, what are the best and least expensive ways to go about it? I'm interested in boring my D16Z6 to 1.8L for more torque, but would like to maintain the short stroke quick revving features. I'm assuming that to do this I would just get the cylinders bored at a machine shop and replace the pistons with oversized pistons. Is that correct? Anyway, holla at ya boy and put me up on game :iceslolan

As far as I know, nobody on here has done that. Most people if they want to get a 1.8 litre they just swap in a B-series. Plus boring it out and having it machined can't be that cheap, is it?

I wouldn't think so.... I've heard of people being able to increase displacement to as far as 2.0L, but I don't if they did it that way or by installing different sleeves.

i think if you bore it out you need to sleeve it and buy new pistons and rods.....etc by the time your done you coulda got a b-series motor

I'm interested in boring my D16Z6 to 1.8L for more torque if your main concern is tq then you may want to consider a stroker kit of sorts. boring will increase tq #'s but nothing like stroking it.

You would have to sleeve it. I board mine out to .020" 1618cc from stock. You would have to go way out like .080 to even clome close to 1.7. Not worth the head aches in the long run. Remeber this the closer you get to the water jackets the hotter the motor will run and the more problems you will have.
