between these models, which would be a better choice?
Is it feasible to get a turbo on the gt?

yes you get a turbo in a gt with custom manifold. But you would most liking have to make one tho. However, in a gst you can get a bigger turbo in it and push just as much hp as a gt with a turbo. But man, with six cynlinders, it would be easier to dual turbo it. Not saying you couldn't with a four banger. Just with smaller turbos. Just use one large turbo for a gs-t. Just my :2cents:
but my personal perf. would be a gs-t spyder. Because I think it looks better than the gt. The gt looks too blaa

I'm not positive on this, but i think the 4g63 that's in the gst and gsx's can put down more horsepower than the 6 cylinder in the GT eclipse has yet to obtain after modification. I believe stock for stock they are equal in horsepower and torque give or take a horse and footpound. Either way, the GT has turbo kits out for it, but the GS-T engine has more modification potential.
About twin turbocharging, i believe that it's not always a gain to have 2 turbos. From what i here, most people with twin turbo Supras who mod them remove the twin turbo application, and replace it with one big turbo, and get quite an enormous gain out of it.
I agree about looks category though. The 3g isn't THAT bad in my opinion, but the 2g is much better looking.

V6s are worse than V4s? Wouldn't V6 crank out more output than V4 therefore, most benefit gained by Turbo?

E.Mk, we need to clarify some stuff here...:):
V6 or V8 or V10 etc. refers to the positioning of the cylinders, in the shape of a V. 4g63s and basically every other 4 cylinder engine is an inline-4 cylinder, with 4 cylinders straight across. There are inline-6's too, BMW features many of them. As far as V6's cranking out more hp than inline 4's, most V6's go the twin turbo route, like the 3000gt VR4s. Actually, come to think of it, is the 3kgt an inline 6? Not sure. Anyhow, I don't think the efficiency of having all 6 cylinders running their exhaust into the exhaust manifold to the turbo is significantly better than running just 4 cylinders.

the V6 eclipse with turbo will never be as powerful/good as the 4G63. Just because its bigger doesn't mean it's better... and its definately not cost effective.

zero is right, twin turbo isnt better...my buddy has an rx7 and is taking off the turbos and replacing it with one big badass single turbo...god that thing is fast...

ok, im gonna clarify a little more. the twin turbo setups come on the V engines like the v-6 setups that are in the 3000gt vr4 and the 300zx TT. The reason they are twin turbo is because they have two exhaust manifolds, one for each turbo. THe supra and the RX7 are the exceptions, they are not V-type motors, the supra is an INLINE 6 and the RX7 is a rotary motor also meaning that both of them only have one exhast manifold. Most people do the single turbo setup on these because they are able to produce more power when using the single exhaust manifold to power just one large turbo than two smaller turbos. You would most likely have to twin turbo an 03 eclipse GT because it is a V6(V-type motor). Hope that cleared some stuff up for you. Ohh, also go with the GS-t its wayyyyyyyyyy better then the GT.

Um... My knowledge of cars isn't that modern... but V4 = 4 cylinders, V6 = 6 cylinders... I just know that more cylinders means more output. Now, this isn't taking into account the turbo or any other mod.

okay, I plan to use the car as a learning/modding vehicle. So... in terms of modifications and such... getting an Eclipse Spyder GST is better than the Eclipse Spyder GT?
If so, is it better to get the GST or get the GS and get the turbo elsewhere?

no :nono: get the gst. I in the long run it would be more satisfying. Personally I would go for the gst  now i am going to sleep

Woah there... there has yet to be any time where turboing a RS/GS was cheaper/better than buying a GST/GSX in the first place. Don't tell people to do it.
More cylinders doesn't mean more power. and V is a type of engine, the V6 in the 2000+ Eclipses is nothing like my i4 turbo. Inline and V-type (many variations in degrees) are different.

I plan to search(and hopefully find) a used Eclipse Spyder for around $10K. Turbo is preferred, but I optional... so I was wondering if a GST would be better than a GS and then adding turbo later on.
So, you're in favor of the GS and then mod it for Turbo?
Which is better for modding? I want to use that vehicle to learn about what I can do with cars, so modifiabilitiy is important.

always buying a car that was factory built for a turbo is better than turboing a non-turbo car.
