So I'm on the phone with my mom, and she tells me about this article in the paper...a kid from my old high school got a DUI. I ask who it was, so she grabs the article, and it turns out to be a kid I knew. Well, he's driving his friends home from a bar, when he loses control of the car and crashes into a telephone pole, sending one of the friends through the windshield. Somehow no one was killed.

Anyway don't drink and drive!!!

i have a friend who had 3 dui's at the age of 21. he got 30 days in jail, and 3 months house arrest. and lost his licenses for 3 years. thats a hella harsh sentence for your first offence. i think even agravated assult hold a shorter sentence then 51 months.. damn

i live here and there are lot of ppl that do it...with lots of fatalities, mostyl why its so stiff, also depends on what happend to cause the situation. ie if your pulled over vs wrecking

I think DUI here is 30 days, I know that if you get 3 DUI's, then they take your car. My mom then sells their car :)

i wont even have a beer if i'll be driving. its just not worth it. even if your under the legal limit here in washington state you can still be charged with a DUI. its upto to officer, if he finds you incompitant to drive while under the leagel limit, DING DING. Dui

ya know whats fucked up... here in Minnesota if you get pulled over for a DUI/DWI and you are 21 or older you loose your license for 6 months and you go to jail for 30 days or 60 STS (sentence to serve... community service or some type of shit like that).

no if you are under age and you get pulled over and get a minor while driving or a DUI/DWI then you loose you license for 30 days and you get 10 hrs or STS... aint the fucked up, i think it should be the other way around! bigger penalty if your under age than if you are legal to drink!

In Connecticut now, you can get a dui just for being high while driving. I tend to drive more carefully when I am high, but the government says I am a menace to society if I puff a blunt.

Driving Under the Influence, so it is a catch-all. a girl i know got one for driving on vicodin. i got mine when i was 19 and it came with a ticket for pot too [i swear it was like 2 little snapper bowls worth of the chronic, we call them boogers they are so small]. they said i was going to get a pot ticket, all i had to do was blow... i laughed and was like "take me to get my blood done" which didn't matter cuz there is a zero tolerence for minors... the pot got droped, but the DUI stuck. cost me 3000 bucks plus like a weekend in jail or something. liscence suspended for 1 year, and 3 months later i got pulled over and got a driving on a suspended liscence that landed me in jail for 30 days in 1 county and violated my probation in another, which was another 60 days [that was after court dates but after the ticket i had this chick get my car out of impound and i was driving the next day]. all in all i never stopped driving, but i did move out of the city i was in!! also i had to do a 3 month DUI school.

2nd offense is 30 days and 18 month course. course consists of 3 nights a week, 2 group and 1 education. 3rd offense is felony DUI, min. 1 year jail and 36 month DUI school. if any property damage occurs it is automaticly felony DUI, and if anyone is hurt in any way it is attempted vehicular manslaughter. your boy probably caught that one, or something like it [those are the deals out here in cali].

my roommate happend to get off of one a year ago after a year and a half of court dates. after testing his blood like 7 times the defense finaly got back a test below .08... lucky bastard.

in the laws it is a 502(a) and 502(b)

502(a) is driving under anything performance restricting
502(b) is driving over .08 BAL
so it is a catch-all
