Hi y'all. I heard there is some type of filter located inside the cab that is suppose to filter the incoming air from the vent for dirt, pollen, ect. I have never been able to confirm this, does anybody know about it? I'd like to change mine because the only time I think about it is Spring. (AHCHOOO!)

yes I've heard of it. i've heard it called many things, but its mostly referred to as the cabin filter. on the newer silverado's it is located inside the vehicle on the passenger side, under the dash. It's fairly simple to change but if you go to pretty much any oil change place, they can do it for you. that's who brought it to my attention that I needed to change it. hope this helps!!

I dropped the black casing area under the passager side and when I opened it I saw the heater core but no air filter. Is it farther up in the unit?

I now on a 99+ 1500 there are 2 filters under the dash. When you remove the cover, you can access one easily, but there is one more behind it, you have to reach and find it. Same part # filter, its just a pain in the arse to get to. As far as the 3500's, if they're the old body style, not the HD, I'm not so sure if they even have one.

The dealership informed me the C3500 for 2000 does not have one.
So I will be returning those filters today.
Thanks for the info.
P.S.
I told them that I just bought the 3500 and was wonder if there were any upgrades for the computer or recalls. They looked up everything and told about some computer upgrades were available but informed me to keep away from them. Gee a dealership not trying to nickle and dime me to death.
Welcome to weird world.
