H22 or Turbo?

I have a 5th gen accord ex with 85k miles on it. I need more power. Not extreme, but just enough to hang or beat most street cars. Im not a hardcore racer but i like to drive fast. my goal is to be able to beat integras and preludes and maybe hang with tl's (i know, thats gonna be hard). Anyway, enough background. i am looking at either an engine swap or turboing my f22 sohc motor. i think that after getting all the parts necessary to do it right in either case will cost about the same. so ... which will get me most bang? and most reliability? it is a daily driver and if i swap, i probably wont turbo afterwards. so basically one or the other. other notes of info ... i have a greddy evo exhaust and an aem cai. i just replaced the clutch and flywheel (honda oe).

Definitley buy an H22. it's worth the money but heavy. You will have way better luck with a H22 in an accord than a F22 Turbocharged because you can fine tune dual cam motors way better than single cam. :D

i agree :) doesnt matter if its heavy...im sure the accord can take it. its also more reliable than runnin a turbo

I have a 96 and I'm about to do both. An H22A swap and a turbo. If this is your daily driver, you should go w/the swap because more than likely you won't be able to smog a turbo but you'll be able to make the engine pass smog in your car. The only thing you need to make sure of, which I'm sure whoever you have do your swap will know is that you can only put in an engine the same year or newer than your car. So since you have a 96, you need to put a 96 or higher engine. I recommend a JDM 97+ because the Japanese 97 is where their OBDII computers kicked in so the ECU work will be easier.
