Corvette Restoration Pics

Hi guys. I find it kinda funny that I dont even own a Camaro, but I post the most on this thread... The Nova forum is dead and the Corvette forum is basically a bunch of rich people that arent very nice. You guys seem to be the coolest all in all and I hope you dont mind me postin these pictures on here. Well anyway I have been restoring a 69 Corvette convertible for about the past 3 months in my free time and i wanted to post the progress I have made. I just hope these pictures come out allright.

Pics when I first got it.. motor and all drivetrain are built STOUT, but the body and interior need work

Well thanks for lookin guys. I hope these pictures come out allright. And just for the record.. I am currently talking to a guy with a 67 Camaro, so within the next month or so i might be a "true member" of the camaro forum =)

well you do have a firechicken, so i gues ill cut ya some slack ;) but nice project man, im impressed that youre doin all that out in a carport... cant say as id have the balls to do body and paint work in anything other than a closed off garage or paint booth. and is there something wrong with your headlights???? i thought those years had flip up lights, did you or the guy before you put in hard mounted lights??? if your leavin em that way, might i suggest some plexiglass covers that match the lines of the car, for aerodynamic reasons, and a little cosmetic.

Maybe they came from a camaro..............LOL. Anyway Looks good man keep it up....

Hey. Thanks for the advice, but yes I already have the plexiglass covers. They have alot of trouble with the vacuum lines needed to work the headlights and the plexiglass covers and an acceptable stock replacement (takes almost nothing away from the value of the car)And as for the bodywork I have a waterproof car cover that i use when im not working on the car and when its paint time i will be moving itto my shed across the street. Right now its full of junk and I dont realy feel like cleaning it out just yet.. =) I am really excited in talking to this guy about the 67 camaro. The body is in almost perfect shape, itll need paint, and the motor is setting on a stand waiting to be dropped in. It has a narrowed rearend and all that. Right now were just talking numbers though. I really hope his numbers match mine though

u re-painting it red? lookin good.
atleast you gotta car port to work in. i do my sanding, priming, and bodywork in the driveway, and do the painting in my grandfolks' shop.

Ya the fiberglass is annoying, but as soon as I get it how i want it, no rust or anymore worries for quite a while. The fiberglass is prone to "peeling" off in very paper thin sheets that you cant even really see until you shot it with primer.. thats the stage i am at now.. gettin all the very small inperfections out. I have the interior and all, black seats with red carpet its just gutted from the car. As for the color it is going Viper Red. I recently painted my brothers 67 firebird that color and i fell in love with it. Well thanks for the positive comments guys.. within the next month i hope to have it painted. After that I need a new top made for it get all the chrome redone, and I hope to have it completely finished within the next 2 or so months. Where do you live 1992RS? I live in the southern US as well.
