I was driving it last night and the car just died.. no warning.. no loss of power.. no enngine light..just died. so i pulled over and tried to start it.. it turns right over and idles for aout 5 seconds.. no skipping.. no nothing.. just like it would if it was new.. then it just dies on me.. sometimes the engine light will come on and then it will studder... and stall.. ive tried to bring it up to 2000 rpm .. its holds there fine. then stalls after 5 seconds.. ???? any idea's?

ok car is back at my house.. i got it started.. it runs like shit and the engine light is on... randomly it will stall and then kick back on.. it still has alot of power.. i managed to get it sideways in the wet at 60 with an auto and just by flooring it.. it will start to build speed and then just. cut off .. and then kick back on..

run a scanner on it and see what it says, i say it has something to do with your ignition, maybe your coil? or loose wires somewhere

i'll guess and say your maf is junk. code 34 means the voltage is either higher or lower than normal for the rpm's it's running. the Bosche style maf sensors have a major design problem. when they go bad they tend to over estimate the air flow coming in and usually runs the engine way rich. i bet if you could get it started and keep the rpms above 2500-3000 it'd run flawless.

also one more thing, you can clean it and see if it makes a difference. use a carb cleaner or brake cleaner and spray the thermal wire until it's shiny again. be carefull not get to close, and make sure it's dry before you start the engine

are you running a K&N air filter???? very common problem, over oiling the filter when you clean it causes excess oil to coat the MAF sensor wire and the signal goes bad. or the maf could have just taken a crap. either or.
