Brought My 2003 Grand Am Gt1 Wit 41,000 Km In Because Of The Service Engine Soon Light Came On. They Put It On The Computer And They Seen That The Abs Wire Was Dameged They Claim It Was A Rodant (mouse) Of Somekind. Could This Be Actually True??? My Car Is Parked In Down Town And I'm Usually Driving It All The Time, How Could A Rodent Damage A Abs Wire? The Bill Is $233.64. 18.25 For The Part And $160.80 For Labor And $24.12 For Environmental Charge. Again To Any One Wishing To Buy A Grand Am Be Fore Warrend Because Lots Of Problems Are Ariseing In Them Leaky Gaskets... I Just Got Mine Fixed It Was Gone For A Day And A Half Luckley I Had Warrentee Or That Would Of Been Expensive. Poor Manufature Defects My Windshield Leaked. The Machiens At The Gm Factury Didn't Fully Seal The Widshield, Caused Water To Come Out The Sun Roof Button. That Problem Alone Had Me Going To The Dealership 5 Times To Get Fully Fixed Because They Didn't Know What Was Causing The Leaking... I Have Not Yet Had This Fixed And Quite Frakley, I Am Refusing To Pay For This Rodent Vrs. Abs Wire Problem.. Any Advise On This Problem???

Dude, your sentance structure and spelling was giving me a headache trying to read your post :loser:
Now, if the SES light comes on, it sets a code with helps with diagnosis.
If the dealer found the problem caused by rodent damage (which by the way, rats and mice LOVE wire insulation) then that is not a factory defect and therefore not covered under the terms of the GM factory warranty.
To prevent this from happening again, I would recommend that you get a cat. :naughty:

Thank You For The Reply, And Regarding Spelling And Sentance Structure Your One To Talk!!! And There Are Three Cats Around. So You Know For A Fact If There Were No Traces Of Rodent Around The Abs Wire Housing It Was A Rodent And Not Maybe Something Hot Was Dripping On This Wire? Like This Is What They Are Claiming. It Was A Rodeant But There Was No Proof That, It Couldn't Of Been Hot Fluid Leaking On This Wire?

Hot fluid is not going not melt a wire. First off it would have to be a constant stream, secondly there is no fluid in a engine hot enuf to melt a wire, or it would be melting the engine. Lastly what the hell is an Environmental Change?

I have seen many wiring issues caused by rats, mice, squirrels, cats and dogs chewing on wiring insulation...
Matter of fact, had one customer threaten to sue us because we would not warranty his front bumper cover that his 2 Lab puppies chewed off.
The point is, if the failure was not a direct result of a manufactoring defect, then the repair is not warranty. (unless there is an evil factory plot to install killer mice in your car  )
