Ok on our 66 mustang the paint is spider cracking around the "F" and I believe the "O" or the "R" -ford lettering on the hood. I was thinking that before we replaced the radiator that maybe the metal above the old one was heating up and then cooling to often and that was causing the paint to crack(it was already partially cracked when we got the car about two months ago, the old radiator had a leak and steam would come at at times) Since replacing the radiator it continues to worsen and when you look at the hood from the right angle you can see that there are more spider cracks on the 1st layer of paint near the front of the hood. If this makes any sence then I accomplished my goal but does anyone have a suggestion about all this and next question, is it better to just repaint the whole hood to fix it or is there an easier/cheaper way? Thanks.

Repaint he hood if you go to a good body shop where they can match or blend the paint with the rest of the car. Otherwise paint the whole car so your classic doesnt look like patch work. Good luck.
