video game movies?

i've heard of a couple movies that are thought up from games that are supposed to be coming out, here's the list that i remeber fromt he magazine-
Crazy taxi movi-yeah i know i dont see how there can be a story, but it might be good.
Grand Theft Auto-not sure what its going to be like 'Vice City' or something, but it can be very cool.
Resident evil 2-not sure of real title, but i think everyone already know about it.

there are some others but i had a brain fart and cant think of them, list any that you know of that may be coming,and yur coments aboot them.

In the 'Crazy Taxi' movie the main character's mission is to reach his destination before I slip into a coma and fall out of my theater seat.

GTA sounds interesting, and RE2 is probably good for a little gore.

Games to movies usually suck, I don't know how the crazy taxi thing would go but eh' i'd see it if it was a t.v. movie.

RE:2 is called Resident Evil Apocalypse, and its based on the story of RE:3 Nemesis. They already have a teaser for it.

I haven't seen one video-game to movie conversion that has satisfied me yet. Maybe because the most popular games have great stories and you had the most fun with them, then when a movie comes out, it's mediocre at best and is a total disappointment in terms of story line and innovation, compared to its video-game counter-part. That and a video-game has more immersion, since you have interaction

o also supposedly there is going to be a true crime movie too, if so i would probably come out about the same time as the gta one, because movies that are alike, seem to come out at the same time, like currently we have a bunch of teen movies like mean girls,you got served, bring it on again(or something like that) and i think there is one more......

i thought reident evil nemisis was in a haunted house style area, like in a forest nowhere near a city and they had an underground lab under this manshion and they tested these things there, but the ttrailer for the 2nd movie looks like its going to be in the city, yeah i no i dont have a life.......

wouldn't a real life GTA just be like a mix of Scarface, EMpire, King of NY, Resevoir dogs and all those other gangster movies? i would think so considering the game itself is compiled from many aspects of these movies.

Idk, Enemy has it right. These games already have thick plots and when the movies come out they cut them in half. Silent Hill would be good if they did it right...

I thought RE:2 was supposed to be both Games 2 AND 3? I know it definitly has three in it, because of Carlos and Jill, but there is also that part at the end of the first one where Alice is standing in the middle of Raccoon City ready to kick some behind. Either way I can't wait to see it. I thought the first one was pretty cool and I absolutely love the game series (though Outbreak is a bit of a disappointment).

They should make a movie based off the Gran Turismo games. Like F&F but a little more realistic.

There has been tons of talk about Sony's movie division making a movie of The Getaway. But that game is pretty much a movie anyway :dunno:

WTF? The Getaway? It's been out for less than 2 years, right? Somebody's hitting the crackpipe. They seriously need to make a Doom or Quake movie. Or even Wolfenstien. And have NIN do the soundtrack.
