Rear brake pad replacement

Where can I find instructions on how to replace rear pads and adjustments? Fronts were a breeze.

It's about the same as the fronts except the caliper pivots on one of the slide pins instead of having both unscrew.

The other biggie is that you screw the caliper back in due to the parking brake instead of just pushing it in like the fronts.

Make sure you have a 6" C clamp to push the piston back in when rehanging the caliper. If you did the front, the back is about the same. There is one bolt instead of two. It pivots out of the way when you remove the bolt.

From what I understand, it is best not to use a C clamp when doing the back brakes. Using a C clamp to push in on the piston will ruin it because you have to turn it while pushing it in. If it is really stuck, you can use the C clamp and push it in a little and then turn it with a screw driver or something like that. But if you go to an auto-parts store, you can get a tool made specifically for it. It fits the end of the piston perfectly and the other side has an end for a rachet. You put an extention on it and then rachet while you push in. Then you won't ruin the calipers. If all else fails and your calipers are seized up and you want to salvage them for a little longer, then use a c clamp. but be extremely careful about not tightening the clamp too tight!!!
