Hello,
I have an 98' Grand Am and I am attempting to install new rear 6x9 speakers. I have read several posts already about how you have to remove the pins from the threshold after the seat folds down. I removed the bolts from the seat and took it out. I cannot find the pins everyone is talking about. Is there a difference in my car as the seats do not fold down? Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Eddie Goble

run your fingers through the back of it while you pull in out and you should be able to find where the pins are.

I didn't unbolt or unscrew anything to replace my 6x9's in my'95 3.1 grand am I just opened my trunk and toke a very strong screwdriver and just pryed up my hook's that hold the top of the back seat down. Then the seat just pulls forward but it won't come all the way out. You will have enough room to install the speakers but I suggest geting the highest brand of 6x9's that you can not only is it very hard and frusterating but with a good pair of speakers I promies you your buddys will think you have a pair of subs in your trunk but make sure you get them in tight and you will be very happy if you do spend the extra $$ trust me.
