2001 tranny problems

Can someone help me please ! my tranny slips like crazy and sometimes take a little while to get into gear. Here is my story sone drove the car and hit some thing. It was'nt major it just dented the tranny pain so i went to buy another one replaced the fluid and put a new pan on, now the damn thing wont shift right so i took it to a shop and they hooked it up to a machine and they told me the tccs is stuck in off and it's not worth reparing so do i need a new a new tranny or what and info would be helpful by the way i have no idea what a tccs is :eek7:

I dont know, if this will work in your case but its worth a try. Check for blown fuses under the hood. I had the same thing happen to me. I thought i was going to need a transmission. Disconected the battery then went to check ALL the fuses i could find. My scan tool showed a lot of things that were related to an electrical problem. Replaced fuses, now good to go. i think that TCCS may stand for torque converter clutch solenoid/sensor..but dont hold me to that one. did the slippage only happen after you changed the oil and filter? maybe you used the wrong type of fluid. i'm not sure if that would cause the problem or not.
