power dump

Ok so I finally got my stereo working in my hatch, but I can only have one amp turned on at a time or I get a horrid power drain. I've got a Tsunami Cable system rated for 1000W going to a pair of Jensen 300W amps, with a 100a fuse next to the battery and a 40a splitter next to the amps. Anyone have any experience with this?

The 100a fuse is less than 10" from the battery, just like the guy at the circuit city road shop said it should be. He said the splitter shouldn't matter, but might I need to put it way up there too?

I'm not sure what your question is but I suggest you try getting a capacitor.

capacitors are pointless, sounds like your battery is dead or you need another one. With only 600W you shouldn't have that problem.

What do you mean by power drain? like your battery dies fast, or your lights dim alot?

make sure you have REALLY good grounds - upgrade your ground on your battery also. Make sure they are at least as big as the positive ones.

yea, id check your grounds first, make em as short as possible and of 2guage wire. im running over 1000w in my system, with no battery fade and no cap.

plus, why do you have 40a fuses after your 100a fuse, they are pointless.

It almost sounds like you got the wiring kinda messed up as if you where running them in series when both come on, also sounds like a bad ground. Posibly a bad amp?
