Yea I just recently fried my alarm, dunno how :screwy: But it won't work and their were sparks :screwy:
So I thought I would buy a new one.. well I am looking for a decent alarm with keyless entry for a decent price. I was hoping to just take the wires out of my old alarm box thing and put them in the new one if possible.
I was looking at the bulldog 6002 pro series alarm I can get it for $58.90 maybe cheaper and the alarm seems decent enough.
Thanks

i like viper... at my work we sell them for $129 installed, just for the regular alarm! not too bad, plus they insure your car and everything inside for up to 10 grand! so if it gets stolen or anything inside your car gets stolen, send them a reciept and they will send a guy out to look at your car and write you up a check!

I 2nd the Viper but you may be able to find it's siblings cheaper. I sell the Python unit for $99 installed at my shop. .... plus they insure your car and everything inside for up to 10 grand! so if it gets stolen or anything inside your car gets stolen, send them a reciept and they will send a guy out to look at your car and write you up a check!
Dude, get your facts together before you state that. DEI has the same protection plan for all of their top alarms. It is called the GPP (guaranteed protection plan). It's a great thing but not what you state. It actually says that it will pay up to $2500 towards your insurance deductable whether your ride is recovered or not up to one year. There are also some other red tape that goes along with that like you having to have the alarm set up to self arm itself. Plus, you do not just send them a receipt and a guy shows up. Actually, no one will show up. It has to be done via police report. Trust me, I have been a Sidewinder, Clifford, and Python dealer for many years.

ok then thats why when my buddy got his system jacked they paided him 5700 for the shit that was missing... and yes a guy came and looked at the car, took pictures, reoverlooked the reciept and made another copy of it, then did some calculations and then wrote him a check! i was there when it happened! he wasnt allowed to touch his vehicle before the police wrote down everthing that had been done to the car and the rep or whatever he was came to his house and took pictures of the car, so i suggest you get your facts straight! and i never said you didnt have to have it installed professionally! i said we sell it for $129 installed****

What model Viper is good? Or just the ones you are talking about.
I was looking at the Ultra Start 2256M its a alarm/keyless/RS (for manual)
http://www.ultrastarters.com/starters/starters_tl/us_lr_1way.htm
I have the ultra start 600 right now so installation would not be that bad.
EDIT>> I am going to install it myself, so Viper's warenty will be void anyways.

What's the price for that? I need a new alarm and I want a remote starter for them cold winters we get. I also need a real good alarm, cuz my system was stolen about three weeks ago and last night my dad's car had his window broken out and his dvd player and such were stolen.

I'm not doubting you that someone came to his house to check out his ride, I know that it wasn't someone from DEI. I have never had anyone go visit any of my customers. Here's a link to the GPP plan that ALL of the higher end DEI names I.E.>Viper, Python, Clifford, ect... have on the alarms. http://directed.com/security/gpp/default.asp Now, I know they are doing some promotional things especially with the GPS system or when you buy a DVD AND alarm system at the same time but nothing like you state.
Also, you DO have to have it professionally installed by an authorized DEI dealer with NO exceptions in order to have a claim paid. Just read the link that takes you right to their site.
As far as the best alarm from DEI, any of the Python, Viper, Sidewinder, Clifford and even Avital are good alarms. If you pick any of the ones one step up from the bottom of the list, you will have a good alarm. The trick is to customize it to your car. So, say you have a hot engine, make sure to have a good hood trigger(should have one anyway). Or, say you have a convertable, then get a prox sensor. I suggest making sure ALL OEM switches work well and also to add back up batteries to the brain and siren. You'd have a pretty decent set up from there. You can always add stuff to it later.
Take a look at the alarms at www.directed.com but the warranty and GPP only works if an authorized shop does the install. :evillol:

For the 2256M it is 78 shipped if I remember correctly, but for you I would get something better damn with all the theives running around there :p For you I would just spend another 100 and get one of the good pager alarms. I believe the Viper responder is pretty good but I dunno how much it costs
