So I finally got my car (91 HB Dx) running and driving. My original plan was to keep it N/A for most of the summer and build up this spare A6 block I'm picking up (for $25) annd throw alot of boost at that (20psi+) But now I'm thinkin, I have a turbo setting here, why not. And N/A is slow. I sold my VAFC/injectors, but I have a .bin I can burn to a chip, and I have a hookup on some hopefully free 450s from some DSM owning friends. If I get the job I'm interviewing for monday (@ Honda dealership) I am much more likely to go through with this, will be complete in about a month if I do it.

Current mods:
-Stripped interior (all climate control & sound deadning)
-Stripped engine bay
-Suspension Tech springs
-D16A6 w/ Si trans and MPFI swap (90-91 ECU, chipped w/ custom tune)
-ebay CAI
-OBX SS 4-2-1 header (2.5" collector)
-full 3" exhaust w/ ebay fart can style muffler (almost done, need to finish up the hangers)

What might go to in (- = have, ~ = will have to get):
-TurboEdit chip (ordering RTP chip)
~DSM 450cc injectors (free)
-DSM T25 (maybe 14b? I can get those for free too)
-Custom log style Manifold
~Custom 2.5" DP w/ open dump WG ($50)
~Full 2.5" charge pipe ($100)
-Modified Starion IC
-Probe BOV
~Neon radiator & fill neck ($50)

So ~$200, and the DP won't work with the new stuff. The old DP is going to be useless since I'm modifying the manifold so I can fit a FMIC w/o crazy ass charge piping.

No matter what anyone say's, N/A street cars are slow, and I hate being slow. Before anyone argues that they can be fast, go ride in a SOHC 4G running 10psi, youll be like .

Basically im only posting this because ive been thinking about it alot lately and i hoped posting it would let me stop thinking about it. My friends are no help. The DSM ones say "Hondas are never fast" and the Honda ones say "Boost it again!!!" but they wont have to deal with it if i blow this engine, and i will.

dont blow it. i've been running the fuck out of my d series turbo. boost ignition retard, decent intercooler, and high octane fuel is the key

LS-1s with bolt ons were no challenge last time, I dont see how this time would be any different. From a roll or from a stop, they always saw my tail lights.

There's only 3 type-rs around here, one might be modded (has the JDM front end), but I've never had a chance to run any of them. Stock they do mid-low 14's, so I don't think I would have had any trouble.

Oh, and sure the big V-8s are quick N/A, but they are faster boosted. I have a friend running a heavily built big-block w/ a SC101 turbo in a 92 camaro, est hp on race gas ~2000+ It will be out cruising May21st, GM High Tech (magazine) may do a feature on him that will be out in a couple months.
