i've had this problem for a very long time and it has finally got on my nerves. right after starting my car (not when the engine is cold) my rpm's bounce around near idle...they'll bounce from almost 0 to about 500 then after a few minutes it'll top off at 750....then when i drive it, i'll push the clutch in and the rpm's will drop off to almost nothing, then come back to 750....if i drive the car for about 20+ minutes, it won't do this...until i shut my car off and restart it.....anyone have this problem or know why it's doing this? thanks for the help.

I have read somewhere before (can't remember where), that sometimes moisture collects in the well of the spark plug housing. It sits in the bottom where the plug wire goes and that sometimes causes idling/driving problems. It allows the spark to jump to the block instead of through the plug. I remember it said that when the car warms up it vaporizes the moisture and everything is ok. I don't know if this results in problems such as yours but it's something to look into. Good luck!

boost or vacuum leak... check all your intercooler piping for leaks, make a leak tester www.vfaq.com (http://www.vfaq.com) has a guide... if its not that try spraying starting fluid around your intake manifold while your car is running, if the rpms increase then you know you have a leak and where it is! also is your BOV vented, that will cause your car to idle differently and want to stall when pushing in the clutch! make sure the tube from the BOV to the intake tube is still connected!

yeah all of my tubes/lines are connected tightly...a while ago i thought it might have been the fuel filter...i replaced it and still have the same problems...i finally got a chance to talk with a friend who knows a lot about cars yesterday and he said it's probably a vacuum leak...this sucks :(
